Azamara Club Cruises

ABOUT Azamara Club Cruises

Who are Azamara Club Cruises?

Azamara Club Cruises® say “It takes a grand vessel to traverse oceans, yet a smaller ship to visit some of the world’s most intimate locations”. Their three sister ships Azamara Journey, Azamara Quest and Azamara Pursuit combine the best of both worlds – they are a good size to cross the Atlantic and also dock in hard-to-reach ports, positioning their guests in the city centre of wonderful destinations the moment they step off the ship.

Smaller Ships, Out of the Ordinary Destinations

Azamara Club Cruises will be visiting Alaska, Japan and Chile for the first time in 2019 and were chosen for their ample opportunities of cultural immersion.

One or two ports cannot tell the whole story of a country, so Azamara have introduced their “Country Intensive Voyages” for those looking to experience a 360 degree immersive exploration of countries including New Zealand, Japan, Mexico, France, Italy, Croatia, Greece, Cuba and Spain. These fully immersive itineraries consist of most, if not all, stops in port in one single country, making for a unique way to dive deep into some of the world’s most intriguing nations.

What about the Name Azamara?

You may be wondering where the name Azamara comes from. Azamara is a coined term derived from the Romance languages. This includes the more obvious links to blue (az) and the sea (mar). The name was also inspired by a star, Acamar. In Classical times, the star Acamar was the most southern bright star that could be seen from the latitude of Greece.
